How Bout Them Titans? It’s a great time to smile, to be merry and to let it all just hang out and get funky with the football monkey! The great one known as the Train Daddy is back and ready to hit ya in the mouth with some words of knowledge, some words of funk, and a brain that’s, well a chaotic mind full of football information.
Well I sold my soul to the devil, and will see if that bastard comes through, but he gave me half of my wish last Sunday. Last Sunday while me and my home boys Johnny Boy, Scottie B and Young Jeezy were all at L.P. Field, I witnessed the most impressive game winning drive of Titans history that went 99 yards. I told the devil I had to have the win, and also the playoffs, and he could have my soul. We’ll see what happens this season but me and my team have won five in a row after a horrific 0-6 start to the season.
Let me give you my story and thoughts on Vince Young, whom I believe has not just grown as a player, but was dealt with correctly by Jeff Fisher. Coming straight out of college, Young played and almost single handedly won the greatest National Championship game in history. Mr. Young gets drafted first round by the Titans, his rookie year takes a below average team to the playoffs and is elected to the pro-bowl. Well, the kid’s on top of the world, next season comes back and teams are ready for the freakish athlete. Vince in his second season throws 17 interceptions, 9 touchdowns, gets sacked 25 times and has 10 fumbles. Any coach or man with a clipboard looks at those numbers and knows something is not right. In my opinion, Vince was thrown in way too early and it probably helped him get to where he is as a player now; him sitting and watching Collins was great for all Titans’ fans. The kid is a winner, an amazing athlete, and that’s why he won games even when he played like garbage at quarterback.
Some might disagree he ever should have been benched, but look at the difference in his play now. Vince is throwing money passes in these five games and that creates the defense to drop back, and then he burns you with his legs. So this sequence of events in Vince’s pro career is exactly what we needed as Titan fans. We now have a quarterback that is hard to plan for, he can run we know, and he can throw a pocket pass with precision. My faith in the boy is back and pretty strong now. I was ready to throw the towel in long ago. I always said when he was benched, give him one more honest shot at it, so we can see what he has after sitting; he sure as hell is shutting all the haters up!
Well people, the Train Daddy is out and my man Chris Johnson is a definite candidate for league MVP, a running back candidate on a list with quarterbacks. Brett Favre and Drew Brees are absolutely phenomenal, while Johnson leads the NFL in rushing and has broken records held since the merger.
Well me and my homeboy Johnson are about to run out of here and go get gangsta with our boos! Don’t worry Boo, the Train Daddy is going to be over and he knows what makes mama happy! CHOOO, CHOOO!
