Abiding Faith Lutheran Church (10411 Old Nashville Hwy., Smyrna) will host a pair of special community concerts on March 23 and 24.
The Concert Choir of Michigan Lutheran Seminary will perform a sacred concert on Saturday, March 23, at 4 p.m.
The 38-voice group of traveling singers, under the direction of Professor Leonard A. Proeber, has toured annually since 1955, with appearances in more than 30 states and locations in Canada and Europe. Several student instrumentalists will accompany the choir on piano, organ, brass, woodwinds and strings.
The following day, Sunday, March 24, Chris Driesbach will visit the church for a performance.
Chris Driesbach was once an atheist, alcoholic and lounge singer who opened for Merle Haggard. Now he is a traveling Christian music missionary telling Jesus’ story of redemption and release for former addicts like him.
He will provide an interactive concert at Abiding Faith at 9:15 a.m. followed by a worship service at 10:30 a.m. Free coffee and refreshments will follow the service.
Both of the concerts are free and all are welcome.
