Dear Readers:
Well, we’ve provided a Pulse for a year, pumping good stuff through our readers’ veins that will have them craving more for years to come. Judging by our celebratory cover, we’re pretty excited about our first year of existence.
My first action of the new year was putting together a weight bench, won by Linda King on “The Price is Right.”
“Come on down, you’ve won 8,400 pieces that can be assembled into a workout set.”
I felt that I needed a puzzle, a challenge to keep me on my toes for the year to come.
Sarah and I went skiing down Sugar Mountain, N.C. Took us a while to get up the first time, everyone wanted to go skiing, but as the night came, more and more people must have gotten injured, because the crowd thinned out and skiing down the slippery sugar slope was spectacular after sunset.
Rock climbing for Emily’s birthday was another fun and much need exertion of energy.
Get anything good for Christmas? As Chaz would say, there’s nothing like putting on those fresh-out-of-the-bag socks on Christmas morning.
The Pulse celebrated the season with Penguin, Los Cobra and The Middlemen, but don’t cry if you missed it, because we have another great production for you on Wednesday, Jan. 17?Fluid Ounces, Juan Prophet Organization and Paradise Daze will all do their thing at the Bluesboro to commemorate the Pulse’s journey into year two and we’ll also show the short film Uh Oh, Betty.
Things are looking good for the Murfreesboro music and arts scene; information on our community can now be accessed from anywhere in the world on boropulse.com. But if you have an overwhelming fear of computer viruses do not worry, the hard copy will always be available.
Well, I spoke of the Titans slim playoff hopes many weeks ago, and sure enough, the odds prevailed. Though if they could have extended their winning streak one game it turns out they would have made it. We’ll have to wait until next season to see V.Y. in action again.
Go McNair, even though you wear purple now.
Well, come by the office sometime, hit us up on our MySpace page, visit boropulse.com and as always, keep sending us the good stuff.
Peace
Bracken Mayo, Editor in Chief
