The midstate experienced a small dusting of snowfall lately, but don’t tell that to the media. It was the blizzard of ’07: school closings, wrecks, even a few snowball fights made for quite a production. They had to use all their nice snowy graphics before the winter was over.
People put on their earmuffs, grab a jumbo mug of coffee, scrape and polish every bit of snow and ice from their car and leave for work an hour early all revved up with so much energy they’re bound to smack into someone on the way, whether ice had anything to do with it or not. Those hailing from snowier regions seem to agree.
The Colts won in a crazy, rainy Super Bowl. Now, as Scott said, Sunday is just another day.
Much has been said about the historic squaring off of two black head coaches. While they’re clearly both great coaches, let’s not forget the opportunity we had of watching great caucasian linebacker Brian Urlacher put pressure on Peyton Manning, one of the best caucasian quarterbacks to ever play the game. I guess my question is: does it really show any great social progressiveness towards equality if one’s race or gender must preface their qualifications. Let’s get over the fact that Tony Dungy is black, or Nancy Pelosi is a woman, hold them to the same high standards as anyone else in their positions and let them do their job. That’s equality.
I was tuning in to the metal station on Music Choice the other day and ran across local homeboys Destroy Destroy Destroy. It’s a pretty big honor to get that kind of worldwide play alongside every metal band from Iron Maiden to Mesuggah to Slipknot.
If anyone has been done wrong romantically, and the Valentine’s Day holiday just seems like too much to endure, look to the next page for the perfect gift idea for your ex-Valentine: shooting lessons for yourself.
Just kidding, the right to bear arms is a serious privilege granted to law-abiding citizens.
While many feel strongly about all sides of the gun control debate, all can agree that being able to walk into a range right here in the ’Boro and have the opportunity to shoot a machine gun is pretty cool.
The Pulse finally got around to giving THB some love. I’ll always remember Glenn sending some encouraging words after the very first incarnation of The Murfreesboro Pulse in 2003.
