I work at Game Crazy in the Hollywood Video on Northfield with a guy named Dan Malone, a.k.a. “MC Dan.”
In the Sept. 7 issue of The Murfreesboro Pulse there was a music review written by Casey Sheffield which bashed Dan’s CD, George W. Bush is . . . Not a Terrorist.
Your writers are entitled to their opinions and in some cases I’m sure they do their homework, but in this case I don’t think that’s the case. You see, Dan is autistic. For him to be able to break the mental wall that keeps him from interacting normally with people and make music is amazing. The fact that he has friends who would support him and make music for him to use as an outlet is a blessing.
Dan should be applauded for his work because, even though Casey believes that she’s “. . . not sure if (she) can call MC Dan’s work ?music’” it is, and Dan has worked hard to produce it and follow his dream in the face of adversity you and I will never face.
I would greatly appreciate for Dan’s sake a printed apology, and please, the next time you let Casey write an article for you make sure she did more to prepare for it than walk into Hastings, buy a CD, and write whatever comes to mind.
