"Stone Spring"

The MTSU Department of Art’s Todd Hall Art Gallery announces a memorial exhibit entitled “At the End, a Little Refinement, Not too Much,” a quote from former MTSU Art Professor David LeDoux. The exhibit runs through Sept. 9 and will showcase LeDoux’s work and reflect upon his service to the Department of Art from 1956 until his retirement in 1994 as professor emeritus.

Additionally, the work of a number of LeDoux’s former students will be featured including their recollections and the influence that he had on their lives as artists and individuals. Several will be in attendance for the tribute reception, including Howard Hull, Jere Chumley and E.K. Waller.

One of LeDoux’s final interviews taped by E.K. Waller will be presented during the exhibit and reception. He will be remembered for contributing a great deal to the Department of Art’s program and curriculum.

“David was a man of great talent and a strong supporter of the department and his students. This exhibit is a way for all to celebrate his life,” stated Jean Nagy, chair of the Department of Art.

The tribute reception will be held from 6–8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, in the Todd Hall Art Gallery.
