What’s up my friends, my fans, and my family! It’s a new year and the Train Daddy is ready to roll out of the station once again and hit you in the mouth with some sports knowledge.
I don’t know what kind of New Year’s resolutions my readers have, but for myself, the Train, I know that big things are in store for me. The kind of things that turn a ho into a housewife or a G to Gent. The Train Daddy has big plans for 2011 and I plan on taking the ‘Boro with me wherever I go.
So what’s going on in the sports world? Well, the Titans sucked it up, the NFL playoffs are upon us and the Train Daddy Mafia Fantasy League was a success.
College football is under way with all kinds of crazy bowl games—the Kangaroo Bowl, Doo-doo bowl, the Poo stew bowl and will wrap it up with the SEC against a duck. Them Southern boys hunt duck for stew. We all know the Tigers are going to be eating duck for dinner, come championship night.
The Train’s getting a little off track, but do you know any Hispanics that just drive you loco, well I sure do. That’s all I have to say about that, if the crazy Mexicans im talking about read this, well Buenos dias a usted tambien. Let’s get to the heart of this column and let the Train roll out of the station.
I don’t have much to say about the Titans, nor do I really want to comment on Jeff Fisher. Who knows what will have gone down after press time? I am a die-hard fan who has always stood behind my coach, Mr. Jeff Fisher, but it could be his time. I am not Bud Adams, so I don’t know what will happen. All I know is the longest tenured coach hasn’t won a Super Bowl, and well, his job is in jeopardy.
I want what is best for the Titans franchise, just like Bud Adams does, and I am not an ignorant fan who is scared of change and can’t let go of what I have loved for all these years. I love and hate Fisher. He is smart, a player’s coach, well groomed, well spoken and usually has a firm grasp on the game plan, which focuses on winning week to week. Here lately he has handled the Vince Young saga like a circus act and has made statements he doesn’t stand by, so what is best for the team? I know that I want a Super Bowl victory here in the next five years, and I see no signs of that coming. I need to see improvement right now.
I see a great running back, a pro bowl kicker, a young wide receiver Kenny Britt that has the talent to be a Hall of Famer, and young bucks on defense ready to hit. I don’t see quarterback love or a coach who has a grasp on the team. I do see great loyal fans who are a bit disappointed in the 6-10 Titans. I hope Fisher comes back with a fresh set of ideas and fully explains his plan. I need a game plan. I need ideas on how to improve—improvement at quarterback, improvement at defense. I need touchdowns, not field goals, and I need a whole new feel in 2011. I need 2010 to never be spoken off again.
I love the Tennessee Titans with all my heart, and will stay true no matter the situation, but I just need change now!
So I now need to talk about the Train Daddy Mafia Fantasy Football League. It was a great year for fantasy football, and I decided to take the reigns as commissioner for the first time. We had 12 great people—my close friends—we all met at a bar prior to the season for a live draft. There, the talking began. This season is over and I must send my congrats out to the league champion, Mr. Scottie Batson. We didn’t just play for pride; we also played for some big bucks, and we talked some mad sh*t leading up to and during the season. Out of 12 players, Scottie placed first. I am still a little sore after losing in the championship game as yours truly placed second and my boy Hunter Shankle finished third. The three of us placed in the money and next year, well it’s going down again with most of us returning for a third year straight. Thanks to the other nine players who made it possible, and next year, the Train is rolling hard, as always.
Soon, I hope I have better news when it comes to my team. But the NFL playoffs are here, and I have the Packers vs. the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
Happy New Year to you all, and if you see a hater, stomp him in the head. I love you all, well most of you. Keep reading the TRAIN and live life to the fullest. Peace out.
