If you want a romping good time, I recommend taking in some real American heritage. The muscle car legacy is honored and preserved in these two fantastic car movies.

Vanishing Point

Vanishing Point (1971) is the quintessential car movie for my money. It is a stark 1970s cult film that gets it right.
Barry Newman’s character, Kowalski, is a rebel on the run. That spirit is celebrated by director, Richard C. Sarafian, along with the muscle of Mopar.
Vanishing Point is a ride you won’t soon forget.

Death Proof

Death Proof (2007) is Quentin Tarantino’s exceptional offering to the Grindhouse double feature.
Kurt Russell plays Stuntman Mike, who is a surly dude. The movie is slightly dialog heavy in places, but the action is superb. Tarantino’s love for the genre transcends to make Death Proof really shine.
The references to Tennessee are just icing on the cake.
