The most important thing is to just do something. Anything is better than nothing for Valentine’s Day.
Even if you’ve had the discussion “Oh, we don’t have to do presents this year,” do something for your someone one that shows some kind of sign that you care. Anything, write a song, buy a card, bake a cake, I don’t care what, just do something.
Obama’s trying to give a big fat Valentine to all of the first time homebuyers out there.
You may have already heard of the $7,500 tax credit available for new homebuyers in 2008, such as Sarah and myself.
The plan was, though, that the homeowners will get the deduction from their tax bill for the full $7,500, then they would have to pay it back, at a rate of $500 per year for a total of 15 years; it acted as a simple, no-interest loan for the buyers.
However, a provision in Obama’s stimulus package would change a very important component of that: the paying it back part. The money would not have to be repaid to the government. At all.
Sure you worked hard to already earn the “free” money, it’s just $7,500 that the government was going to take from you, but yeah, how nice, we get to keep our money.
Really, it’s great idea. How can so-called conservatives be against the stimulus when it contains so many tax breaks for real, hardworking Americans.
It’s very important for the first time homebuyers to call or write Mr. Corker and Mr. Alexander and tell them the message is clear, we want lower taxes.
Alright Murfreesboro musicians, I’ve had a great past few years listening to the sounds you’ve created. It’s time to take this great local scene in a Southern college town to the next level of a genuine artistic movement. The talent is there. The chemistry is right. Let’s have more collaborative jam sessions, festivals, concerts, house parties and art events. I’m trying to make The Pulse a catalyst. Our compilation CD is nearly complete, The Pulse showcase series begins Feb. 25 at the Blue Rooster?it will be great to see S.J. back in action after a lengthy absence, this time alongside Penguin and Ribbonpigeon, both are bands working to make something good happen in this town.
It will be a great year.
The Steelers and Cards gave us a great Super Bowl. James Harrison dug down deep and the big man carried the ball 100 yards for the game changing play. That’s what it’s all about. Until next year, goodbye pigskin.
