Just before Bonnaroo 2010 kicks off, a Manchester establishment will partner with some area artists to benefit a local arts group at a three-day music event of their own.
Wingers Grill and Bar and Double Barrel Booking and Promotions present Wingeroo 2010, a series of benefit concerts for Millennium Repertory Company, June 7-9.
The event features bands and two comedians, several of which have direct ties to Manchester and Coffee County. The shows will begin at 6 p.m. each night and will be held in the Wingers parking lot. Tickets for the event are $5 each night or $10 for all three nights.
On June 7, Manchester native Shawn Tidwell will perform his stand-up comedy routine at 6 p.m. and Manchester band Masquarade will start off the music portion of the event following Tidwell. Nashville favorites Ned Van Go and Atticus Fault will wrap up the night’s musical performances.
On June 8, things take on an Americana flavor as former Manchester resident David Palmer and his band This Modern Station will take the stage followed by Murfreesboro critical darlings Glossary. Manchester’s Blue Blake rounds out Tuesday’s performers.
June 9 begins with comedian Chad Riden and then moves to a country feel as Nashville’s Shelly Williams opens the show, with Stephen Simmons—yet another artist formerly from Manchester—set to go on next. Up-and-coming British band Emma King and the Heartsets will round out the event with their stellar live show.
Wingers Grill and Bar is located at 138 Relco Drive, Manchester.
Millennium Repertory Company is a non-profit theater organization which produces plays, musicals and children’s theater for the Manchester area community.
