Uptown Live, the concert series from the balcony of Shacklett’s Photography on the Murfreesboro Public Square featuring independent Middle Tennessee artists, continues in September.
This month, music fans can hear a free concert each week. Organizers invite the community out to the Square to hear jazz or roots music while enjoying downtown Murfreesboro.

Becky Buller Trio
Saturday, Sept. 8, 9–11 a.m.
Fiddler, songwriter and recording artist Becky Buller brings her bluegrass trio.
The Brenda Lynn Allen Band
Friday, Sept. 14, 7–9 p.m.
The band will perform some jazz standards along with pop and country classics.
Jon Wolfe and Friends
Friday, Sept. 21, 7–9 p.m.
Wolfe, an eclectic songwriter and guitarist, will offer some of his intriguingly quirky original music along with some great jazz favorites.
The Good Dogs
Friday, Sept. 28, 7–9 p.m.
The local, all-star cast of old-time and roots musicians formerly known as The Accidental Trio returns to play the Shacklett’s Balcony.
Additionally, on Saturday, Sept. 13, Uptown Live will leave the the Shacklett’s balcony to continue its mission of community service outreach at the second annual Recovery Festival at Patterson Park Community Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event features booth displays from many of the Middle Tennessee treatment and recovery centers and organizations that offer support services to persons seeking to restore their life after any kind of struggle with an addiction. The festival will also feature bands and solo artists performing live.
