In a challenging year, the Rotary Club of Smyrna and its sponsors did hold a modified Wings of Freedom Fish Fry in 2020. Rutherford County businesses and supporters came together to support this project so the club could continue to contribute to various organizations in the community.
The event, though its sponsors and ticket sales to a drive-through fish fry in September, raised over $121,000 this year, much of it going to support the Freedom Playground, an all-inclusive playground at Lee Victory Park in Smyrna.
