Brewsboro Fest Hits The Avenue Oct. 8

The first-ever Brewsboro Fest is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8, at The Avenue Murfreesboro. The event will be held from 2–7 p.m. and a portion of the ticket sales will  benefit United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties.

Attendees will be able to sample brews from local, regional, national and imported breweries in their souvenir mug. Middle Tennessee breweries such as Blackstone, Yazoo, Calf Killer and Jackalope, plus some 30+ breweries represented, will be on hand to showcase their craft brews. Attendees will be able to purchase and enjoy food from Jim ‘N’ Nick’s, Puleo’s Grille, Boutique Burger Bar, Chili’s, Chop House and Shermie’s Catering.

Live music begins at 2 p.m. with Mize and The Drive, a funk/indie/Southern Rock band onstage until 4:30 p.m. Band members include Lee Ramsey on lead vocals and guitar, Dan Jarnagin on drums, Ben Wencil on guitar and vocals, Cody Malak on lead guitar and vocals, Alex Stevenson on saxophone and Les Greer on bass. Überphonics, beginning directly after Mize and The Drive, is a “Junk-Jazz”/jam band made up of Matt Jaggers on guitar, Carl Roberts III on drums and Jeff Collett on bass and will play until the conclusion of the event at 7 p.m.

Free parking will be available near the Belk store.

To purchase tickets in person, stop by Nissan of Murfreesboro on Memorial Boulevard or Humidor/Liquid Smoke on the Murfreesboro Public Square. Tickets are also available at brewsborofest.com. All tickets are $25 (plus tax) in advance, but may be purchased at the event for $30 if it has not sold out. Admission to the event includes all beer samples and a souvenir mug. Hotel packages are also available and include a stay at the Embassy Suites on Saturday night plus two tickets to the event.

“We are very excited to announce the arrival of Brewsboro in Murfreesboro. It’s a fast-growing market, and we think it’s about time Murfreesboro had its own craft beer festival,” says event director Candace Price. “We hope this event follows in the footsteps of the MAFIAoZA’S Music City Brewer’s Festival and is around for years and years.”

Meagan Flippin, director of marketing and special events at United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties, says it’s a wonderful opportunity for the community: “This event will be unique to the Murfreesboro area and will be a quality event which will be able to make a positive impact in Murfreesboro.

“Our organization was looking for a unique opportunity to offer a new charitable event to the community, and coincidentally, our board chair crossed paths with the staff responsible for the MAFIAoZA’S Music City Brewer’s Festival, and everything grew from there,” Flippin adds. “We’re thrilled to be able to partner with several other companies and organizations to present this new, fun event targeted at young professionals while helping the United Way.”
